Autism Services
Our licensed psychologists provide psychodiagnostic assessment to identify and diagnosis Autism Spectrum Disorder. This includes conditions such as that which was previously referred to as Asperger’s Disorder.
Every child is unique, and each person presents with their own set of strengths and challenges. Our assessments are designed to identify your child’s unique strengths and challenges with the aim of coming up with an individualized treatment plan.
What is Involved in an Assessment?
Assessment involves meeting with a clinical psychologist and completion of questionnaires and tests. Testing is structured at your child’s own pace. Breaks are provided as needed.
Our practice employs the current “gold standard” of Autism diagnostic procedures, including administration of a test called the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (2nd edition). The ADOS-2 is a semistructured, standardized assessment of communication, social interaction, play, and restricted and repetitive behaviors.
Upon completion of the assessment, you and your child can meet with the psychologist for a feedback session. In that session, the psychologist will provide information regarding diagnosis, test results, treatment planning, and available resources. You are welcome to ask any questions.
A report will be provided, which you can submit to your child’s school or other agencies to obtain any needed supports for your child.
We are happy to assist you with obtaining any supports you and your child need.
