Supervised Therapist (Adults) - Burlington & Online
Tiffany Leung is completing her doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology at Lakehead University. She will soon be completing her year of supervised practice as a Psychologist at Brookside Psychologists under the supervision of Dr. Carol-Anne Hendry and Dr. Samantha Daniel, Psychologist. Tiffany provides psychotherapy and assessment to adults presenting with a range of conditions.
As part of her doctoral training, Tiffany completed a year of residency training at Saskatoon and Area Psychology Residency Program with rotations held at Correctional Services Canada (Regional Psychiatric Centre) and Ministry of Justice (Serious Violent Offender Response Team). She has provided clinical services across a range of settings, both within the community and within inpatient and long-term care facilities. She previously completed clinical training positions at the Dilico Anishinabek Family Centre, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, Children’s Centre Thunder Bay, and St. Joseph’s Care Group.
Through the diverse clients seen, Tiffany has worked with adults with behavioural and emotional difficulties (e.g., anger, depression, anxiety), who may also have unique personality and cognitive profiles. She has clinical experience in addressing issues of women’s health, sexual health, and wider issues concerning inequities within healthcare and the justice system. Her doctoral dissertation examined post-traumatic growth following sexual victimization. She has also conducted research and given professional talks on the topic of stress within the workplace, and how to better care for workers.
Tiffany’s psychotherapy approach incorporates dialectic behaviour therapy (DBT) skills training, interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing. She utilizes a trauma-informed approach to therapy. She aims to help clients come upon a peaceful meaningful life, consistent with their own unique priorities and values.
