Michele Vernet (she/her) is a registered social worker and psychotherapist who has worked in the mental health field for over 15 years with diverse populations. She approaches therapy from an anti-oppressive and collaborative model with a firm belief in the importance of creating a comfortable, safe non-judgmental space for clients. She has training in trauma informed psychotherapy approaches including cognitive processing therapy (CPT),cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). She has additional training in mindfulness, motivational interviewing, brief solution focused therapy, and polyvagal informed treatment. Depending on the client and their presenting concerns Michele will work collaboratively with clients to find an approach that works for them to help with the intent of moving them closer to their goals and a greater overall sense of contentment in their lives.
