Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) (Children 10+, Teens, Adults) St. Catharines & Online
Mr. David Sider is a qualifying registered psychotherapist working under the supervision of Jeff Sica, Registered Psychotherapist, at our St. Catharines office. He provides psychotherapy to children (10+), teens, and adults presenting with anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, addictions, self-harm, ADHD, personality disorders, chronic pain, and relationship issues. In his work, he provides a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), experiential therapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills training.
David completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and is a student member of the Canadian Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (CPCA).
With over 14 years in community mental health organizations, David has experience working with individuals of all ages in different capacities. Most of his professional work experience has been with teens, adults, and seniors. He has worked for the Oak Centre Clubhouse in Welland and currently works for the Canadian Mental Health Association – Niagara Branch as a Community Support Worker. For 11 years, Mr. Sider lived in Kingston, Ontario, where he worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist. This experience of supporting individuals with severe and persistent mental illness allowed individuals to rediscover themselves and what they value, while fine-tuning coping strategies and making personal changes to obtain their holistic goals.
David believes that sometimes we may need support and a safe space to explore our current situations, consider new perspectives, and explore what is important in life when potentially redirecting our life’s direction.
