Natalie Phelan is both a licensed psychotherapist a licensed occupational therapist located at our St. Catharines office. She provides psychotherapy to teens, aged seventeen and older, adults and seniors dealing with changes or challenges in their lives, anxiety, depression, trauma related issues, addiction issues, and relationship issues. She has over 20 years of experience providing support to teens, adults, and seniors in the Niagara Region, and is familiar with systems including MVA accident insurance, WSIB, and extended health care benefits. She employs a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT),dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution focused therapy (SFT), brief narrative therapy (BNT), and is a Certified Trauma Practitioner.
She has completed psychotherapy training including certification as a trauma integration practitioner at the Attachment & Trauma Treatment Centre for Healing and cognitive behaviour therapy at the University of Toronto. She has served as a Preceptor (Supervisor) for student placements within McMaster University between 1999-2004 and has participated as a facilitator of master’s level students in Problem Based Tutorials at McMaster University for the Mental Health Unit.
Ms. Phelan works with self-paying clients from the community and also has extensive experiencing providing clinical services to WSIB claimants and automobile insurance claimants.
